Mediterranean Winter

Normally we dont take our cameras when we are taking a walk. But this time to document the winter here we carried them with us..

Yürüyüşe çıktığımızda normalde fotoğraf makinelerimizi yanımıza almayız ama bu kez Datça'nın kışını resimlemek için bizimle beraber geldiler..

Hayıtbük at January / Ocak ayında Hayıtbük

Hayıtbük, one of the beautiful bays of Datca peninsula, was totally empty on a weekday in January.. Not even a single soul around except couple cats and a dog.. Its hard to imagine this emptiness on crowded summer days..

Datça yarımadasının en güzel koylarında biri Hayıtbük, Ocak ayında hafta içi bir günde tamamen bomboştu.. Bir kaç kedi ve bir köpek etraftaki tek canlılardı.. Yaz aylarının tıklım tıklım kalabalığında bu sessizliği ve boşluğu hayal edebilmek çok zor.. 

Lemon Harvest..

Now we have almost everything to make bottles and bottles of limoncello.  All I need is the necessary patience to peel the skin with as little pith as possible.. Very boring job but I am sure the dream of a cold glass of limoncello on a hot summer evening will give me the necessary strength..:))

Artık şişelerce limoncello yapmak için gereken malzemelerin neredeyse hepsine sahibiz. Tek eksiğim limonun kabuğunu incecik soyabilmek için gereken sabır.Çok sıkıcı bir iş ama eminim sıcak bir yaz gecesinde buz gibi bir bardak limoncello'nun hayali bana gereken gücü verecektir :))

November at Datça...

Maybe I keep repeating myself but winter is my favorite time around here..Well, OK maybe its not possible to swim but nature compensates it with its colors and tranqulity..

Bazen kendimi tekrar ediyor olabilirim ama, buralarda en sevdiğim mevsim kesinlikle kış..Tamam denize giremiyor olabiliriz ama, doğa renkleri ve yaydığı huzur ile bunu fazla fazla ikame ediyor...

Summer at the Beach House...

Some of you may already know that Sahildeki Ev ( Beach House) is the name of my the other blog where I am sharing some craft projects and lots of photos from our house..So summer started at our house with lots of summery projects..I especially worked hard on our bedroom and I think it turned out pretty good..So please visit my blog here to get a taste of summer...

Kiminizin bildiği gibi Sahildeki Ev benim kimi DIY projelerini ve bizim evden bir sürü fotoğrafı paylaştığım diğer bloğum..Tahmin edebileceğiniz gibi Sahildeki Ev'de yaz bir sürü yazlık proje ile başladı..Özellikle yatak odamıza yepyeni bir hava katmak için bayağı çalıştım ve sanırım sonuç oldukça iyi oldu..Eğer biraz yaz havası almak istiyorsanız burayı ziyaret edebilirsiniz...

Haunted Bay of Datca

Datca peninsula has so many lovely bays you could enjoy the turquoise waters of Aegean or Mediterranean depending on which side of the peninsula you are on. Here is a lovely bay on the Mediterranean side called Perili ( haunted), because of the name of the hotel resort on the bay. So there is actually no scary story to tell..

The Perili Bay resort has a pleasant view from outside with its Ottoman architecture..However when you enter the grounds its a mix of everything..Roman statues side by side with Persian lions, in front of Ottoman style buildings..Still the magnificent view of the bay is taking your breath away..

Datça, yarımadanın hangi tarafında olduğunuza bağlı olarak, Ege ve Akdeniz'in turkuaz suları ile renklenmiş pek çok koya sahip. İşte Akdeniz tarafında bulunan Perili koy. İsmini koyda bulunan turistik tesisten alıyor, anlayacağınız anlatılacak korku hikayeleri yok..

Koyun en güzel yerine konumlandırılmış Perili Bay Resort'un dışarıdan bakılınca görülen Osmanlı mimarisi tarzındaki yapıları çok hoş bir görüntü veriyor. Ancak içerisi biraz aha karışık. Roam dönemi heykelleri, Pers aslanları ve Osmanlı yapıları iç içe, ancak yine de koy'un muhteşem görüntüsü her daim nefesinizi kesiyor..

Wild Poppy Field...

I keep going to this field which is about 2 minutes away by car day after day for about a week to capture these poppies in their best or as my eyes see them..But unfortunately I am not able to convey you their colors and beauties..Flowers are usually so easy to photograph but poppies are not..I experienced the same problem last year although one of my photos was a finalist at a photo contest..They are really a challange for me...So these are the best I could get from the spring of 2013...

Arabayla eve yaklaşık 2 dakika uzaklıkta olan bu tarlaya son bir haftadır, gelincikleri en güzel ya da benim gözümün gördüğü haliyle yakalamak için günün muhtelif saatlerinde gidip gidip duruyorum. Ancak ne yazık ki renklerini ve güzelliklerini size iletebilmede hala çok yetersizim..Çiçek fotoğrafları genelde kolay çekilir ama gelincikler hiç öyle değil..Geçen yıl çektiğim fotoğraflardan biri bir yarışmada finale kalmış olsa da aynı sorunu yine yaşamıştım..Beni gerçekten çok zorluyorlar..Bunlarda 2013 baharından yakalayabildiğim en iyiler...
