Here are some of the things that I did NOT buy from England. Do you think that I made a mistake? Could they be the the antiques of the future???
Right now I am watching the wedding on TV. Its funny but Bloomberg is broadcasting it live in Turkey..
Yes,yes, yes, you should have bought some. Maybe in about 20 years, they will be worth something - if you could wait that long. :)
ReplyDeleteHard to see, now it's kitchy but then it will become a history!
ReplyDeleteSome people have HOUSES full of that junk!
ReplyDeleteI would have liked to get ahold of the Chinese wedding plates mistakenly printed "Harry & Kate". Those would be worth a fortune in a few years.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a day it was! I don't like collecting antiques or memorabilia but I really would have loved to put my hands on a soft blue and white plate I saw on someone's blog...it just had William and Catherine printed on it ever so lightly...very pretty...I do collect blue and white dishes for my table...one plate of each design for a fun mix...the Will & Kate plate would have been a cool addition.
ReplyDeleteHa ! There are some lovely keepsakes being produced but most of them really are quite appalling. Just cashing in really. The wedding was heavenly; the dress divine, and now at long last she has her Prince. A happy ending at last...
ReplyDeleteUmm. Not so much antiques for the future. So say I. But I am often so wrong wrong wrong
ReplyDeleteIf I was in the UK on holiday, maybe I would have bought a souvenir.I watched the wedding on tv like the others the world over. I wish them well.
ReplyDeleteIt's all about rarity. If there are a bazillion of something sold, it's unlikely it will ever be worth more than it's cost. Good job on resisting.
