Beautiful - it reminds me of the field behind my Villa in Ellenika, Eastern Crete. Complete with those gorgeous bumble bees. Thank you for the memory. Francesca
Any idea why they weren't harvested to eat. With artichokes at 75krs each it seems a waste to let them flower, even though they are beautiful.
so pretty there with the flowers, no wonder you took them home!Blog about life and travellingBlog about cooking
ps. I didn't know that they bloom this way:)Blog about life and travellingBlog about cooking
I've never seen artichokes in flower before. So beautiful!
Same comment as everyone else - I had no idea artichokes flowered like this. It must have been lovely riding through the fields.

I especially love the bees.
I've seen artichoke flowers many times but never a field full of them - gorgeous
This field is astonishing, Turquoise Diaries! And the flowers in the carafe look great too. Bravo, good photos!
Amazing and astonishing beauty. Never seen artichokes in real life. Thanks for sharing.
