My favorite blond said....

''I am leaving the town to the invaders: increasingly numerous, mediocre, dirty, badly behaved, shameless tourists...''
Brigitte Bardot

Well, I wont be as harsh as my all time favorite blond as I like seeing my friends and neighbours when they come during summer, but other than that I am really sad that our private heaven of winter is slowly started to be invaded with the crowds. No more leash free days for our Hera...I know its strange to say that but I already miss autumn and winter..

'' Şehri istilacılara bırakıyor ve gidiyorum: sayıları her geçen gün artan, sıradan, kirli, kötü davranışlı, utanmaz turistler''
Brigitte Bardot

  1. Autumn is our favourite time of year, here. Trekking, pleasant temperatures, clear skies. Perfect! :)

  2. I have a friend who just returned from Datca! She bought a Goddess statue in Knidos -- we're going to try to figure out who it is -- it's not Aphrodite or Demeter, she says. I'm looking forward to seeing photos of her trip!

  5. I can understand you and your favorite blond...I thought a lot about this when I was in Kyoto, some months before. How do the inhabitants feel in a city assaulted by tourists every time of the year?! How do they feel when noisy or just disoriented strangers approach them to find out (without speaking) directions? It must be annoying, I recognise...On the other side, living in such a wonderful place like Datca, and suddenly loosing all the peace of it....Our vacation cabin, where we stay all the summer, is near a river, which separates it from the rest of the village...Only a family lives at about 500 m from us. I can stay on the terrace days and days, and not having the least desire to go in the village! So, I understand...Have a great summer,Turquoise Diaries!

  7. That's how I feel in Pasadena for the last half of December and the first week of January, for the Rose Bowl game and Tournament of Roses Parade. I'm glad the people come. It's good for the economy. I'm also glad it's not a whole season!
