The year was 1980 and I was 16..I met him in the summer of that year. I was in love and I knew deep down that he was the one.. I was in high school and he was in university and soon we were making plans of getting married after finishing schools. However life had other plans for us. In 1981 I won a scholorship and went to USA for a year. We broke up right before my departure..
The year at the States was a great experience but I was missing him so much. I returned to Turkey with great hopes but found out that he was dating with another girl. The year was 1982 and I saw him for the last time in that summer. Soon we went our separate ways. Then I did not see or hear about him for the next 26 years.
You know what they say ' Be careful what you wish for, It may come true'.. I think it was the beginning of 2008 and I was having a girl talk with a close friend of mine. We were talking about our past relations. I remember very clearly saying that when a relationship is finished its finished but I only wanted to see Behcet once again and have a cup of coffee just to learn what had happened to him' and guess what ?? Couple months later I received a friendship invitation from him on the facebook and soon we met for a cup of coffee.

In that very first meeting we realized that despite many years and many other relations our feelings for each other were as fresh as the summer of 1980. We married on September 13, 2008... So today is our very first anniversary. It could be the 25th but we are still amazed that life gave us a second chance..
